Organic Feedstock Sourcing Manager (renewable energy sector)

SWING Biomethane is an innovative and ambitious player in the biomethane sector in Europe. The company was founded in 2022 and is backed by an infrastructure fund dedicated to the energy transition. Its mission is to accelerate the production of biomethane, as a way to contribute to the decarbonisation of the gas sector and to become a European leader through the development, financing and operation of production sites in key European countries, and already present in France, Poland, the UK, Denmark and Spain with a portfolio of projects ranging from an early development stage up to construction.
SWING Biomethane is committed to providing a sustainable alternative to fossil gas and is excited to bring its technical, financial and project management expertise to support biomethane project developers. To play a key role in the procurement of sustainable raw materials for the company’s biomethane production process in Poland, we are currently looking for an Organic Feedstock Sourcing Manager.
Stanowisko
Oversee the sourcing, negotiating and logistics of organic raw materials for biomethane production.
- Develop the sourcing of organic feedstock – ensure the reliable and sustainable procurement of organic materials by negotiating purchase contracts and agreements with suppliers and ensure favourable terms and conditions.
- Introduce the activities of SWING Biomethane to farmers (for the purchase of e.g. straw and manure), to food manufacturers (negotiate the purchase of their co-products / food waste products) and industry partners across Poland.
- Actively visit and build strong relationships with suppliers; discuss quality, production volumes, logistics, and handling of their co-products, get to know the whole production chain.
- Identify, evaluate and qualify new sources of organic materials for biomethane production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and sustainability of sourced organic materials.
- Manage logistics and transportation activities related to the delivery of organic feedstock to SWING Biomethane facilities.
- Track and analyse KPI’s to measure the effectiveness of feedstock sourcing strategies.
- Monitor market trends, pricing and regulatory developments affecting organic feedstock production. Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in organic waste management and renewable energy.
- Manage the disposal of the digestate (liquid and solid fractions) deriving from the biogas production. Actively contact and build relationships with farms and discuss the plant nutritional value of digestate for use on their fields as a fertilizer.
- You closely cooperate with a team of project managers and report to the Country Manager Poland.
Profil
A proactive procurement manager with affinity for renewable energy resources and agriculture.
Job requirements
- Higher degree (agricultural or food production, renewable energy, environmental sciences).
- Experience with organic feedstock sourcing, procurement or supply chain management within the renewable energy, biogas or waste management is an asset.
- Fluent Polish and communicative English.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices, waste-to-energy technologies and sustainable principles.
- Prepared for frequent travelling in a pioneering role.

- Able to open doors and to actively build partnerships with farmers and suppliers.
- Team player, naturally ready to share knowledge, and enjoying having contacts with a wide range of stakeholders. Start-up mindset.

- Goal oriented, able to work independently, proactively and in a self-directed flexible manner.
- Eager to learn and stay up to date with regulatory requirements and certifications related to organic feedstock sourcing.
